Panthers Finish 5th in State Poll
After securing the first state championship in
school history on Saturday, the Hartford Courant ranked Pomperaug as the 5th
best team
in the state. Jumping from the 7th position, Pomperaug finishes the season with
its highest state ranking in history. Hand-Madison, the
Class M State Champs, New Britain, the Class LL State Champs, Greenwich, the
Class LL Runner-Up and #1 ranked team for most of the
season and Staples-Westport, the Class L State Champs were the only teams to get
more votes than Pomperaug. The Panthers were also
voted #5 in the New Haven Register's poll.
